Please take special note that a practice code number is required by the Medical Schemes Act (Act 131 of 1998) and its Regulations to be on any account or statement submitted to a medical scheme or a member of a medical scheme – in other words this is a legal requirement. BHF administers the Practice Code Numbering System (PCNS) according to criteria established by the Council for Medical Schemes, among which is the stipulation that all users of the PCNS contribute towards the running and maintaining of the system through payment of annual registration fees.
In order to ensure that the PCNS database contains updated and accurate information we urge you to notify us of any changes. Your statutory council registration number and ID number are mandatory on the PCN system.
We would be grateful if you would also pay special attention to updating your email and cell phone details as we would like to move towards a situation where we communicate with service providers electronically in future.
