Your statutory council registration number and ID number are particularly important as we are legally obliged to ensure that the system contains these details. We would be grateful if you could also pay special attention to updating your e-mail and cellphone details as we would like to use SMS and e-mail to communicate with you in future.

Exciting enhancements to the PCN system
BHF is very excited to announce its new Geo-Mapping facility. It has been developed as part of the PCNS department’s ongoing endeavour to improve service to providers, PCNS users and the general public.
This innovative yet easy-to-use online tool will allow web users to locate any healthcare provider with a valid practice number anywhere in South Africa and provide not only contact details for the healthcare provider but the exact location of the practice on an up-to-date map. click here for details.

Please take special note that a practice code number is required by the Medical Schemes Act (Act 131 of 1998) and its Regulations to be on any account or statement submitted to a medical scheme or a member of a medical scheme – in other words this is a legal requirement. BHF administers the Practice Code Numbering System (PCNS) according to criteria established by the Council for Medical Schemes, among which is the stipulation that all users of the PCNS contribute towards the running and maintaining of the system through payment of annual registration fees.
In order to assist us in ensuring that we have the correct information pertaining to dispensing licenses on our system, please be so kind as to mail, fax or e-mail us a certified copy of your dispensing license when it is.
